    3D Printing Cost in Egypt: What Determines the Price?

    Short answer: 3D printing cost in Egypt is not determined by weight alone. A useful estimate must consider the model’s geometry, material use, expected print time, layer height, infill, walls, supports, finishing, and delivery.

    This is why two parts with similar outer dimensions can have very different prices. A large hollow cover may use less material than a smaller solid bracket, while a highly detailed model may take longer to print than a simple part of the same weight.

    What determines the price of a 3D print?

    Infill supports the inside of a printed part, while the outer walls form much of its functional shell. Increasing infill usually increases material use and print time, but maximum infill is not automatically the strongest or best design. Wall thickness, geometry, and the direction of the expected load can matter just as much.

    5. Supports and printability

    Overhangs, bridges, and complex geometry may need temporary support structures. Supports add work and can affect the surface where they are removed. A design that reduces unnecessary overhangs can often be easier and more economical to manufacture.

    6. Finishing

    A standard print, a sanded part, and a painted display model require different amounts of work. Select finishing based on the real purpose of the part. A fit-test prototype may not need the same surface preparation as a presentation model.

    7. Minimum price and delivery

    A minimum item price may apply to very small jobs because preparation and handling still take time. Delivery is calculated separately according to the supported destination and current checkout options. Always use the final estimate shown for the actual file and address.

    Why a universal “price per gram” can be misleading

    Price per gram describes only one part of the job. It does not fully represent machine time, fine layers, supports, setup, finishing, or delivery. Comparing services only by a single gram rate can therefore compare different scopes of work.

    • Confirm the intended dimensions before requesting a quote.
    • Use fine quality only where the visible detail requires it.
    • Select infill and wall strength according to the real load.
    • Remove hidden geometry and duplicated internal bodies.
    • Reduce avoidable overhangs and supports during design.
    • Use a standard finish for early fit and concept prototypes.
    • Explain heat, moisture, impact, or load requirements before choosing material.
